Is it reimbursed?
- The immigration medical examination (IME) for Canada (Dr. AUBERT’s examination, basic biological check-up and chest x-ray) is not considered by the French social security as a reimbursable procedure. You will thus not be reimbursed by your health insurance or your mutual insurance company. However, in Canada, basic regulation often allows for a future employee to negotiate reimbursement with their (future) employer. As such, keep the fee notes you will receive from Dr. Aubert, the laboratory and the radiologist!
- If you have a chronic pathology, Canadian administration may ask for some additional examinations: these exams will be covered by the French social security, as they are performed in the interest of your health.
